Broadcast Flag

Over on LuminousVoid there is a transcript of the ongoing fight against the FCC's plans to introduce a broadcast flag to HDTV in the USA to stop home recording on computers.

Today I went to see the oral arguments at the D.C. Circuit Court in American Library Association v. FCC. This case has been described as “just as important as Grokster” to the future of technology and information. Several groups are trying to stop the FCC broadcast flag rules.

Now you may think this is problem just in the USA, but have you ever looked at the parts in your PC, They all conform to FCC standards globally.

So whets to stop UK TV companies taking advantage of the fact that PC HDTV cards in the UK would already have the Flag technology inbeded in them?
