Stressed?

Then why not take it out on your boss?

Can you find all 10 ways to take it out the poor soul?

Surely Not?

A Two-Button Apple Mouse

In other news, Hell has not frozen over yet, but it very well may.

According to sources who have so far filed accurate reports on Apple's future hardware plans, the company is feverishly working on a two-button wireless optical mouse that it intends to release.

Apple enthusiasts have longed for an Apple-branded two-button mouse for over a decade, but their requests have gone unanswered. So what has changed? According to sources, 'it's the company."

With Apple now profiting from low-priced consumer electronics as it makes a push to reclaim market share from Windows, a two-button mouse is 'almost an essential,' sources said.

It's unclear when the computer maker plans to introduce the mouse. Insiders warned that anticipation may continue to build for months as the company perfects the product.

Apple has just recently reduced the price of its wired mouse to $29 and its wireless optical mouse to $59. The two-button wireless optical mouse would likely debut at the $69 price point once reserved for the company's current wireless mouse.

"Jaws will drop," said one insider.

They must be taking braking into the PC market very seriously to be doing this. After all you think of Mac's and you think of the unibuttoned mouse, that is what make s and apple and apple.

Latte Art

Will there be any thing else with your coffee?

Over on Flickr which is back up now Yay, there is a collection of Latte Art. Made out of the milk in your coffee it's amazing what some people can do.

PodBrix Woz Minifig

New PodBrix Product Will Be Released In 4 Days
On Monday (March 21st) our next product will go on sale at 9:00pm EST. More details and photos will be disseminated the morning of the release day.

Here is what I can tell you now:
The new product will be an apparel item, not a minifig. It will incorporate the PodBrix design and function as an iPod shuffle accessory. It will be a limited run of 300 units. All will be hand signed and numbered as with our previous products.

For those of you hoping for another minifig related product... never fear. We are finishing up the next minifig item now and it will be launched about a week after the new apparel product.

All I can say is thank god for the pre warning, I have managed to miss out on both the last limited runs as, both of the last two release where only announced at the moment of release which meant only those on line at the time got the figures.

This time PodBrix is announcing in advance which I think makes a lot more sense, although you have to wonder what the ipod shuffle accessory is?

We are sorry about the down time!Update: We've found a big part of the problem, and are preparing to test a fix right now, as we speak.Update: And we're back!

In case you had not noticed by now Flickr is dead for the time being :(

A to Z

Navitime Japan has added aerial photo maps to its personal walking/car route-finder mobile phone app. For better precision, it features real shapes and scenery as well as high-res and low-altitude (rather than satellite) pictures.
Cool or what, but like all the best tech it's in JP years befor it will come to the UK.

MP3 has caught on, so much so that a future replacement technology has not been identified yet. “MP3 is going to be around for awhile -- at least 10 years,” says iSuppli analyst Shyam Nagrani. It will overtake the CD format, too, he believes.

At this point in time I can not see why you would want to replace mp3, that is unless you work for the RIAA. There is no DRM with MP3 that's why it is so popular with the people, If MP3 goes away it will only be for one of two reasons something better comes along or the RIAA some how forces it to go away.

Delivery

Delivery A short Movie by Till Nowak, It's a bit of large download if you don't have BB but there is the choice between a 40 Meg DL and 100 MEG.

I have gone for the 100 Meg but it still has an hour and half to go, So can not comment on the film at the moment but as soon as the DL has finished I will update.

From the still how ever it looks good for a home made film.

----------------

Edit not to spoil the plot to much, but it was quite well done if not a bit predictable.

Can You Hear That?

The world's first purpose-built hydrogen-powered bike could be fitted with an artificial "vroom" because of worries its silence might be dangerous.

Did You Tell Them?

Ok I don't know who but some told Tripod about the Blogdex, I checked as always to see what meme's are doing the rounds this morning.

Only to see that the top 6 where all links to Tripod, and with massive numbers 76 each.

1.
Tripod

The only logical reason for this is that 76 Bloggers who use Tripod have joined the Blogdex, But why?

You have under stand that normally it only takes at most 7 sites to link to a meme to get it to the top of the list.

The Blogdex population I am guess consists of about 1000 or so Blog's if not less as most meme's only have 1 or 2 links, there tends to be about 400 links(Well that's as deep as I have ever bothered to go).

So why the sudden surge in Tripod users?

Hopefully they wont affect the Blogdex that much with there mandatory tripod links, this should just be a blip on the radar, but the Cassandra in me wants to know why?

Are you a Tripod Blogger and have singed up for the Blogdex? Why?

Ecosystems Have Parasites

Cory Of Boing Boing has just put up his notes for a talk he gave at the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference in San Diego.

The talk discussed the merits of an open eco system as opposed to the closed eco system that Hollywood wants.

Altough It it deals with the subject well I feel it miss one important point, Using the Eco model Hollywood controls all the food.

We can not make are own movie's, not one's that people would pay to see at least not yet. As long as the MPAA and RIAA have the authority to represent the artists and interest of Hollywood. They will be able to control the watering hole which is government and legislation.

Thus giving them the power to cut off are trickle down feed at any time, The problem is humans are lazy we would rather sit in the sun all day a tan by the pool.

We are short sited after a long day in the Fields all we want to do is blonk are selves down in front of the Idiot box and stair blankly for 8 hours before we sleep. To start all over again the next day.

How controls the idiot box in the corner? The networks where do they get their power from? Well of course we give it to them, in the case of sky we even pay to to give it to them.

If we did not watch the idiot box other big fish would not pay to advertise on it, in turn the network would not be able to gain content of Hollywood to keep us interested in the idiot box.

The are only 12 story line after all we have seen them all and we will watch them all again. Until we take brake the hold the idiot box has upon us we will not be able to take control from the RIAA and the MPAA.

We are letting a little box in the corner raise are children after all it's far, far easyer to plonk you offspring down in front of the Idiot box at the end of the day than it is to have to bother to interact with them.

They spend all day in school but that's no good as you have to work when there in school, so of an evening the TV takes over.

the problem is that in the modern society where the idiot box has brain washed us into thinking we deserve everything "Because your worth it" and that we don't have to don any thing every thing will just come to us.

The truth is not like that so just like the food addicts who can only get their next hit by eating that 22nd bar of chocolate we have to return to the idiot box.

After all if you can not have kylie bum at least you can stair at it for 3 hours a night and so what if you don't live in a big mansion yet, you look inside J,lo's for now.

The idiot box has done such a wonderful job of selling the jet set life to us all, but what many don't realize is that those living the jet set life can only live it, if the rest of us stay glued to the idiot box, and that as long as they do so they will never live such a life.

After all if you spent al day out with your family would you really give a dam about what clothes J'lo was wearing or even think about pay 40X what they are worth for them?

The most successfu of us don't spend all day watching the idiot box they are out their doing it, The idiot Box can only provide pipe dreams, but what wonderful pipe dreams they are.

So to close, let use this quote from a TV show from a by gone age...

"Why Don't you Switch off your television set and do something"

Spore

Over on the ludologist Blog there are some pics of EA's Game Spore which is still in the pipe line.

Itunes Sticks The Boot In

I tunes has been asking me for the last two months to upgrade the software, I have said no every time, the only reason I have I tunes on it because I was forced to install it if I wanted to watch .mov files using quick time.

In the end I told it not to ask me any more, It turns out this was the right thing to do as Apple has just striped out some of the usability and rights you had previously had.

But once you install the new iTunes 4.7.1 "update" (more accurate to call it a "downgrade") you lose that ability. Without telling anyone, Apple has stolen some of the rights you paid for when you bought your iTunes music, by adding limits to the number of people you can stream your music to in a 24 hour period. Imagine if your boom-box refused to switch itself on if too many people were in the room -- the 21st Century equivalent of gathering in one room to listen to music is gathering on one network to do so, and Apple has just appointed itself the absolute, tyrannical ruler of the size of the social group that you're allowed to stream iTunes music to.
You can not even roll pack your software once you have installed this new down grade, in the old days you used to down load a program and install it, these day's you download an install which downloads the program installs it and delete's the installer so if you want to install it again you have to connect to the net and re download.

If people stand for this it will not be much longer before apple takes away the right to play you tunes on any thing other than your ipod, I would say this is the 1st step down the slippery slope.

But lets face it we have been free falling down the slope since the day Microsoft was founded, Just one more fair rights use they could not take away from us in law, so did it with a sneaky back door update.

Apple is to the 21st century as was Microsoft to the 20th.

Can Papers End the Free Ride Online?

Is the question asked by By KATHARINE Q. SEELYE, the answer is no.

Simple there are other free options to news papers, why are people going to start paying for something they don't have to, lets face it people will just migrate to CNN's web site or any of the other big TV networks in the USA.

As for the UK they don't have hope in hell of charging, It would not matter if every media outlet in the UK decided it was going to charge. The BBC would still be free could you image if the online papers in the UK started to charge the BBC web site would get all that traffic.

Even if papers in the US charged we are still in a global market where English is spoken in 5 other major markets, there are plenty of other web site's though the world that will be free and will stay free.

Can pay sites really compete with this?

The Buzz Game

Yahoo has a stock trading game based upon Buzz,

Example

  • You're bullish on podcasting; you buy shares of PODCAST stock
  • Britney announces her next single will be delivered exclusively via podcast
  • Curious tweens everywhere flood Yahoo! with searches about podcasting
  • Your shares skyrocket; you make a bundle
I took a punt on these,

GOOGMAPS

I went for this one becsue it's still new people are just starting to integrate it into their site's so it should rise.
