HTC Touch HD

So In the end 02 simple priced the Iphone out of reach I am not paying for a phone its simple not the way its done in the uk, so in the end I got a far better deal on a HTC Touch HD, £30 a month 1200 minutes and unlimited texts and 500 meg of data.

Ok so the data is not grate but I have free wifi at work and at home and I am only ever going to update Facebook or Twiiter status so its not like I really need unlimited.

No flash on the camera, thou so its not one for low light shots, took the phone on tour of the UK and the battery was prity good I was not rushing for the plug in the hotel room unlike the iphone boys.

Its on orange so unlike the iphone lot I had signal in the more rural places like Chedder and Burley when they did not.

The only downside seams to be that there is no app store, you really A, have to know what sort of app you want and B, know where to get it. So its not all rose's.

Snow Day

Snow Day

I thought it was about time for one of my own shot's. I took this on my Canon EOS 400D using my 50 mm - f/1.8 II lens I have to say seven with the current price rise in lens due to the week pound at £80 ish this lens is the cheapest best lens you can by for a digital canon camera. Before the collapse you could get this lens for £58 but if you look for any other cannon lens the next ones start at around £200 and after that they only go up!

Thou if your after the latest tec then the new Canon EOS 450D Digital SLR Camera Kit (incl EF-S 18-55mm IS f/3.5-5.6 non USM Lens Kit) has now replaced the 400D thou the older model is £200 cheaper!

The Blue Hour in Molde

I have to say I love the way all the colour in this shot is down in the bottom right hand corner and how electric they look next to the dark blue of the night sky.

For £100 you get a lot more bang for you buck than you would think. Canon Digital IXUS 400 - Digital camera - 4.0 Mpix - optical zoom: 3 x - supported memory: CF

Woodside Bouy 1

I have to say I love this shot, and am amazed that Andy took this with just his Fuji FinePix S5600

Considering its a bridging camera I am impressed.

Just A Quick one to let you know that the SANDISK EXTREME III CF 8GB is now half price on Amazon, I used to cost £80 but is now down to £40 I just snapped one up, I am sick of running out of space on my camera an in fact cut my day short in Liverpool for Chinese new year after I ran out of film, hope full now i can shoot to my harts content. I think even i would be hard pressed to take 2000 shots in a day.

Happy, Chinese New Year!

Dragon Eat Ball!

I was out and about to day in Liverpool for Chinese new year and thought i would share a few of my shots with you.

Taken from the roof of the Far East, I remembered they had a car park up there, I used to go the Far East all the time when my Granddad was a live, I am sure he used to know the owner or something as we always ended up sitting at the biggest table in there surrounded by 3 huge fish tanks.

IMG_2025

I nearly did my ankle in jumping back down off the way god it was scare, tip for the future take step ladder, one journalist ended up handing his camera to the kids on the wall to take shots for him.

Nice idea, shame about having to hang on for dear life.

There must have been around 40 people at least involved in following the fire works cage around, that thing had more security than the queen!

Cages make the world Safer

The Dragon seamed to make an emergence pit stop at one point to fix the head and every one ran down in front of it to take some photos, So thought may as well do some crowd shots, who watches the watchers and all that..

Who Is watching the Watchers?

Canon 400D / Rebel XTi

As an early Christmass present to my self I went out and got my self a Canon 400d or Digital Rebel XTi if you live in the USA. I went for the Body and standard kit lens a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens.

I have found it to be grate investment, I think the pictures speak for them self, with in 30 days of buying this camera I had my first photograph in the local paper!

My Photo in the Daily Post!

I have found the camera to be grate for every thing from shots of my dog to full on night shoots out in town.

Jd (Just Dog)

08 @ The Rocket

But enough about me lets talk tec for a little The 400d comes loaded with features,
  • 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor captures enough detail for photo-quality 18 x 24-inch prints
  • Large 2.5-inch LCD display; includes Canon's EF-S 18-55mm, f3.5-5.6 zoom lens
  • New self-cleaning dust function, plus Dust Delete Data Detection in included software
  • DIGIC II Image Processor provides fast, accurate image processing; Picture Style settings for added creative control
  • Stores images on Compact Flash (CF) memory cards; powered by battery pack NB-2LH
Thou I should warn you once you start buying there is no stopping I am already on the look out for two new lens from the canon L series range (L is the very best canon make so don't be put off by the price of these, there are cheaper lens made both by canon and others, but for the very best results its got to be an L lens.) the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens UK/USA.

As well as a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens UK/USA

Don't let those prices but you off one of canon's best kept secrets is the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens a steal at £60/$80. For the price of it this lens takes incredible shots.

So what are you waiting for go get your self, Canon 400d or Digital Rebel XTi and get out there and get taking photographs and who knows where you shots could end up, if I can do it any one can!
